To bend forward means to flex the spine, which happens every time you move your chest toward your thighs (and visa versa). Forward bends create a stretch in the posterior (back) structures of the body from head to heels and, when done optimally, bring a soothing quality to the nervous system, calming the mind and cooling the body. In this workshop taught by Susan Johnson, E-RYT and Ginger Houck, a retired physical therapist, you'll take turns demonstrating supine, standing and seated forward bends, learning which variations are optimal for you. RYT’s will receive one Yoga Alliance approved contact hour for Techniques, Training & Practice as well as one for Anatomy & Physiology. Cost is $35 and space is limited.
