This workshop, led by Susan and the Ging(e) (a retired physical therapist), will focus on optimal alignment for your own unique body in order to keep your practice fun, safe and sustainable for years to come. Twists rotate the spine and strengthen and stretch the muscles of the trunk. This helps to restore and retain the spine’s natural range of motion, which tends to decrease as we age. They stimulate circulation, creating heat and releasing tension in the muscles of the spine, abdomen and rib cage which helps other systems in the body (such as digestion and elimination) work more effectively. In this workshop we will explore passive and active twists in ways that specifically suit our own unique bodies. RYT’s will receive one Yoga Alliance approved contact hour for Techniques, Training & Practice as well as one for Anatomy & Physiology.
