YOGI OF THE MONTH
March 2025 - Dinah Bondzie
What first brought you to yoga and how long have you been practicing?
I’m the Pastor at Bethany United Methodist Church in Reedville where Susan teaches every Monday. I walked into the class a few times and recognized some friends. It took me a year and a half, but I decided to ask Susan if I could join the class, which was the first time I had ever done yoga.
What is/are your intention(s) for your yoga practice?
Body weight management. I want to have control over how I carry my body.
What is your favorite pose and why?
Downward Facing Dog because it’s a challenging pose. It took me a lot of practice to be able to do it. My challenge now is to hold the pose long enough and eventually, to transition in and out of it with ease. When I’m in Down Dog, I stay there until my arms fatigue instead of transitioning into other poses.
What is your favorite class at InsideOut Yoga?
Slow Flow in Reedville.
How has the practice of yoga influenced your life?
I always feel good after a yoga class. The body stretches are amazing.
What advice would you have for a beginning yoga student?
Just start and go at your own pace as you build strength.
What is your occupation?
Reverent Minister
What activities do you enjoy?
People and music.
What is your favorite thing about living in the Northern Neck or Middle Peninsula?
The fresh air and good people.
Is there anything you want to add?
I’m so glad to be Yogi of the Month. I’ll wear it as a badge of honor.
