Sammy T's Tahini Sauce

The Ging(e) got this recipe from Sammy T’s—her favorite restaurant in Fredericksburg. They use it on their bean and grain burgers, but the Ging(e) and I think it tastes great on EVERYTHING.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/4 cup light sesame oil (the G uses avocado or olive oil)

  • 1/4 cup tahini (the G makes her own, but store-bought is fine)

  • 2 Tablespoons tamari or lite soy sauce

  • 2 Tablespoons fresh lemon juice

  • 1-2 garlic cloves

  • 2 T fresh parsley

  • 1/4 cup chopped red bell pepper (about 1/2 or more of a large red pepper)

  • 1-1/2 Tablespoons plain yogurt

  • 1 teaspoon honey

  • 1 stalk celery, cut into large pieces

PROCEDURE

Combine all ingredients in a blender and mix thoroughly.  Add water if too thick.
