YOGI OF THE MONTH
March 2018 - Connie Majeski
What first brought you to yoga and how long have you been practicing?
Throughout the years I've taken a few classes, but never committed to yoga full time. I found InsideOut Yoga online when we moved to the Northern Neck. I thought it would complement the other workouts I did.
What is/are your intention(s) for your yoga practice?
To find inner peace, calm and patience.
What is your favorite pose and why?
Warrior One pose for its graceful strength.
What is your favorite class at InsideOut Yoga?
I've enjoyed every class I've taken, but when I take Breathe & Stretch, I might come in with a few little aches but leave feeling as if I've had a massage.
How has the practice of yoga influenced your life?
Yoga has improved my posture and balance, and helped me achieve a calm, positive energy within.
What advice would you have for a beginning yoga student?
Just go with the flow at your own pace and enjoy the experience.
What is your occupation?
Iām a happily retired interior designer who enjoys helping friends with design questions.
What activities do you enjoy?
Visiting our grandbabies, boating with my husband John, yoga, cooking, Mah Jongg, and spending time with the good friends we've made here.
What is your favorite thing about living in the Northern Neck or Middle Peninsula?
Living in the Northern Neck is like going back in time. My husband and I really enjoy the easygoing lifestyle it provides: less traffic, slower pace, and all the natural beauty.
Is there anything you want to add?
Little did I know what I was about to experience when I signed up for Susan's yoga classes. Susan is such a gem as an instructor and a person. It's been another blessing on the Northern Neck.
